It has a large ribcage to accommodate it's large lungs, and it can hold it's breath for up to 3 hours. Front legs get tucked under the belly, forearms behind the rib cage to make them more streamlined. The nooks in the tail show the space that the back legs are folded into when swimming. The bigger the tail, the bigger the curve/bump. The weight of the tail gives the dragon a bump near the area where the back legs join. It swims like a cross between an alligator and a snake, winding its body but using the tail for propulsion. They can also be drawn with tears/splits in them if you want to give your character a more rugged look.īuild: The species as a whole has a thin snakelike body, long muscular legs (for running), 2 pairs of ribbon-like streamers, and a tail that becomes a giant fin. They attach to the head just above each ear. The dragon sends minute electrical impulses to the muscles that cause them to move or stiffen in a desired position. They are usually left relaxed and flutter in the wind when the dragon moves, but they are used for steering when swimming. Streamers: Though they look featherlike, they are actually made up of a previously unknown type of muscle. I bet you're all wondering how I came up with my species name huh? lol if you really must know, I kept typing random things on my keyboard until something good came up XD. Don't give them spikes/wings/extra limbs/etc. Let me know you're making a character, can be note or comment here.
